JUST when we thought judges Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue had put their rivalry behind them, the pair are to do battle - in the charts.

Aussie Dannii, 37, plans a musical comeback and wants to sing on X Factor. But Girls Aloud's Cheryl, 26, will also showcase a single from her first solo album on the ITV1 talent hit.

Dannii said: "It would be unreal to perform on the show."

She is teaming up with dance music producers Freemasons, who have created hits for Sophie Ellis-Bextor and have written tracks for Alexandra Burke's album.

They have also co-produced tracks for sister Kylie, 41, who has already been on X Factor.

Dannii, who had 12 consecutive No 1 singles in the dance charts, said: "I am all fired up to get back in the studio as soon as possible."

"It's hard to keep away from music - you hear a great song and think, 'I want it to be mine'.

"I haven't had a proper chance to meet with Freemasons but I want them to be a part of it."
